Marcy-SUNYIT Parkway begins at the intersection of River Road with a ramp from the Utica-Rome Expressway (NY 49) in Marcy and runs north as a four-lane divided highway. After a short distance, there is a roundabout at Technology Drive, which provides access to the campus of SUNYIT.

North of the second roundabout, CR 34 is known as Edic Road. The median ends, and the road narrows down to two lanes.
