57 Street is a major east/west street in Manhattan, extending from 12 Avenue (NY 9A) to a dead end just east of Sutton Place. It is the northernmost major east/west route in Manhattan south of Central Park. It is known as West 57 Street to the west of 5 Avenue and as East 57 Street to the east. The entire length is a four-lane undivided road with traffic lights. Near the eastern end, there is an entrance to the upper level of the Queensboro Bridge (NY 25).
