Allen Street is a north/south route on the Lower East Side. It begins at Houston Street across from the beginning of 1 Avenue and runs south. Just south of Canal Street, it curves and changes names to become Pike Street. The southernmost block is known as Pike Slip. It ends under the Manhattan Bridge at South Street, the service road of the FDR Drive.
