CR 9 is one of the longest county routes in Dutchess County. It forms a loop off of NY 82 to the east. It begins in Hopewell Junction as Beekman Road and runs east, gradually curving to the north. At NY 55, it changes names to become Clove Valley Road, which it follows to a traffic circle at Bruzgul Road (CR 21) and Wingdale Mountain Road (CR 21). Beyond the circle, it is known as Clove Road. CR 9 follows Clove Road to where it ends and then turns west onto North Clove Road, which it follows back to NY 82. The entire length is a two-lane undivided road.
