NJ 79 is a north/south route in Monmouth County. It begins at US 9 just south of its interchange with the Freehold Bypass (NJ 33). It passes through the downtown area of Freehold, where it is multiplexed with CR 537 along East Main Street for a few blocks. Heading out of town, it continues north to Matawan, where it ends at Middlesex Street (NJ 34).
