CR 528 is an east/west route from Bordentown to Mantoloking. For most of its length, it is a two-lane undivided road. The exception to this is Cedar Bridge Avenue, the section in Lakewood and Brick. At its eastern end, CR 528 goes over a drawbridge over Barnegat Bay from Brick to Mantoloking.
