The Everett Turnpike is a north/south toll highway extending from Massachusetts to the state capital in Concord. It begins at the state line where US 3 enters New Hampshire from Massachusetts. US 3 is routed along the Everett Turnpike until exit 7E in Nashua, where it splits off to follow the surface roads for most of its length in the state. The Everett Turnpike continues north with no numerical designation to the Manchester area, where it joins I-293. It follows I-293 and I-93 north to Concord, where it ends at exit 14 for Loudon Road (NH 9). The highway continues north as I-93 with no name beyond that point.
The Everett Turnpike is a toll highway. Motorists must pay a toll at three points along its length. The full name of the highway is the F.E. Everett Turnpike, named after Frederick Elwin Everett, the first commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. It is also known as the Central Turnpike, although this name is not posted on signs.
