I-395 is a short spur off of I-95 in the Bangor area that serves as the most direct route to Acadia National Park and Calais. It begins at US 2/ME 100 just west of I-95 and runs east through Bangor to Brewer, where it ends at an interchange with US 1A and becomes a super-2 section of ME 9. Motorists bound for Acadia National Park can follow Main Road (US 1A) southeast from the end of I-395 to Ellsworth and then take ME 3 onto Mount Desert Island. Motorists bound for Calais can follow ME 9 east.
