George Street is a short north/south route in Chesapeake City. It begins at the exit from Augustine Herman Highway (MD 213) just south of the Chesapeake City Bridge and runs north to a dead end at the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. It serves to carry traffic from the exit to 2nd Street (MD 286) and St. Augustine Road (MD 342), which have their western and northern termini, respectively, at George Street. The numerical designation of MD 537 for George Street is unsigned. The exit is marked for MD 286 and MD 342 only.
