MD 290 is a north/south route on the Eastern Shore. The first section, Dudley Corner Road, begins at Sudlersville Road (MD 300) in Sudlersville and runs north to Crumpton. It crosses a small bridge over the Chester River. On the other side, it is known as Crumpton Road. After a short distance, Crumpton Road ends at River Road (MD 291). MD 290 is multiplexed with MD 291 along River Road for a short distance to the east and then splits off to the north onto Chesterville Road. In Galena, MD 290 becomes Main Street. It turns east onto Cross Street, which becomes Galena Sassafras Road heading out of town. It continues north to an interchange with US 301 and ends shortly thereafter at MD 299.
