The Worcester Providence Turnpike is an extension of the North Smithfield Expressway (RI 146) into Massachusetts. It enters the state from Rhode Island and runs northwest to Worcester, where it ends at I-290. The southernmost section is also known as Providence Pike. For most of its length, the Worcester Providence Turnpike is an expressway. However, there is a short section in Sutton with some at-grade intersections and a single traffic light at Boston Road.
