I-91 is a north/south highway beginning in New Haven, Connecticut, and extending north to the Canadian border in Vermont. The portion in Massachusetts runs down the middle of the state, passing through Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton, and Greenfield. It remains within a couple of miles of the Connecticut River for all of its length in the state.
