DE 9A is a short loop off of DE 9 providing access to the Port of Wilmington. It begins at New Castle Avenue (DE 9) and runs east along Terminal Avenue. There is an interchange with I-495. After about three quarters of a mile, DE 9A turns northwest onto Christina Avenue. It passes under I-495 again, but this time there is not interchange. After a little over a mile, it ends at South Heald Street (US 13/DE 9).
