Lake Welch Drive begins at the Palisades Parkway. At first, it is a two-lane undivided road.

Lake Welch Drive widens to become a divided highway with a grass median. A second lane merges in on the right from the southbound side of the Palisades Parkway. Then, the roadway splits. Use the right lane for Tiorati Brook Road or the left lane to continue on Lake Welch Drive.
