This sign used to mark the ramp for exit 21 when travelling north. It was replaced to reflect the renaming of the Tappan Zee Bridge to become the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

When the reconstructed interchange at exit 21 first opened, the exit for Midland Avenue (CR 72) was erroneously marked as exit 21 on the exit gore sign. This error was corrected within a few months.
