DE 299 begins at the point where DE 9 turns from Taylors Bridge Road onto Thomas Landing Road. After one block, Taylors Bridge Road ends at a stop sign at Old State Road. Turn right to stay on DE 299.

Middletown Odessa Road continues west. There are traffic lights at Gloucester Boulevard, Brick Mill Road, Dove Run Boulevard, and Silver Lake Road.

In the downtown area of Middletown, Middletown Odessa Road becomes Main Street.

Main Street ends at a traffic light at DE 15. Turn left onto Middletown Warwick Road to go south and to stay on DE 299. Continue straight ahead onto Bunker Hill Road to go north. At the time that these pictures were taken, US 301 was routed along Middletown Warwick Road. It has since been reassigned to a new toll highway.
