NY 199 is a continuation of US 209 across the Hudson River to Dutchess County. The expressway portion of US 209 changes designation to become NY 199 at its interchange with Ulster Avenue (US 9W). There is one more exit for Flatbush Road (NY 32), and then the expressway ends. NY 199 crosses the Hudson River via the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. On the other side, it is multiplexed with NY 9G for about a mile to the north and then splits off to the east again. It is the northernmost major east/west route in the county, running just south of the Dutchess-Columbia county line. It eventually ends at NY 22/US 44 near the border with Connecticut. With the exception of the expressway portion near the western terminus, the entire length is a two-lane undivided road.
