I-84 is an east/west highway from Dunmore, PA, to Sturbridge, MA. It enters New York from Pennsylvania at Port Jervis, the point where the borders between New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania meet. It runs east to Middletown, where there is an interchange with the Quickway (NY 17/Future I-86), and then to Newburgh, where there is an interchange with the New York Thruway (I-87). East of the Thruway, I-84 crosses the Hudson River on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. On the other side of the river, it runs southeast to Brewster, where there is an interchange with I-684 at its northern terminus. Just past this interchange, I-84 enters Connecticut and becomes the Yankee Expressway.
