Richmond Road is a major roadway on Staten Island, beginning at the point where Arthur Kill Road turns into Richmond Hill Road and running northeast to the Staten Island Expressway (I-278). For most of its length, it is a two-lane undivided road. For its northernmost few blocks, it is a southbound one-way street. Northbound traffic must use Targee Street. Richmond Road exists as a local street for a few blocks north of the expressway, but oversized street name signage doesn't begin until it crosses the expressway.
