1 Avenue is the easternmost northbound avenue in Manhattan. Allen Street becomes 1 Avenue at Houston Street. It extends north to East 125 Street in Harlem. There is also access to the FDR Drive and the Willis Avenue Bridge from the northern terminus. It is currently one of only two avenues in Manhattan with oversized street name signs. It also has Select Bus Service that runs in a dedicated bus lane.
