CR 15 begins as West Shore Road at the northern terminus of CR 7A and runs north. Immediately, it passes under the Roslyn Viaduct, a bridge that is part of Northern Boulevard (NY 25A).

West Shore Road becomes a divided highway. There is a traffic light at Fairway Drive, which can be accessed through an exit on the left and provides access to the Harbor Links Golf Course.

There are exits on the right for North Hempstead Beach Park. There are also two turnarounds. All large trucks must use the second turnaround.

At the top of the hill, West Shore Road narrows down to two lanes and changes names to become Beacon Hill Road. There is a traffic light at Longview Road.

Beacon Hill Road runs west through the Beacon Hill section of Port Washington as a two-lane undivided road.
