The Morris-Essex Turnpike Bypass is an expressway in Morris and Essex counties connecting the Middlesex Freeway (I-287) to the Phillipsburg-Newark Expressway (I-78). It cuts the diagonal and is generally the most direct route for motorists travelling between points to the east on I-78 and points to the north on I-287. Like most New Jersey highways, it is more commonly known by its number than its name and is generally referred to as Route 24.
