I-280 is an expressway in New Jersey. It begins at I-80 in Parsippany and runs southeast to the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95). It serves the suburbs in Essex County and also provides a shortcut for motorists coming from Pennsylvania on I-80 who wish to cut the diagonal to reach points south via the turnpike.

I-280 is sometimes known as the Essex Freeway, although this name is not widely used and is not posted on any signs.
