DE 7 is a north/south route running down the center of New Castle County, west of Wilmington. It begins at the point where US 13 turns from South Dupont Highway onto Wrangle Hill Road (DE 72). The first section is known as Bear Corbitt Road and serves as a local alternative to the DE 1 toll highway. It changes names to become Bear Christiana Road in Bear and then Main Street in Christiana. Main Street curves to the west, and DE 7 turns north onto Old Baltimore Pike. After a short distance, it joins DE 1. The two routes are multiplexed across the Delaware Turnpike (I-95) to an interchange with Churchmans Road (DE 58), where DE 1 ends. The highway ends, and DE 7 continues north as Stanton Christiana Road. The next major intersections is with Ogletown Stanton Road (DE 4). DE 4 joins DE 7, and the two routes are multiplexed to the end of Stanton Christiana Road, where they split. DE 7 turns north onto Limestone Road, which it follows north to the border with Pennsylvania.
