CT 2A is a loop off of CT 2 that bypasses Norwich and provides access to the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos. It begins at exits 13A-B of the Connecticut Turnpike (I-395) where it has its interchange with CT 2/CT 32. It is multiplexed with I-395 south for a few mile to exit 9, where it splits off as a short expressway. After a little over a mile, the expressway narrows down to two lanes and crosses a bridge over the Thames River to Preston, where it ends at Laurel Hill Road (CT 12). The two routes are multiplexed for one block. Then, CT 2A splits off to become Poquetanuck Road, a two-lane undivided road. It runs east for a mile a mile and then joins CT 117. The two routes are multiplexed for about half a mile to the north to Norwich-Westerly Road (CT 2), where they both end.
